Personal Comment

The moment I read the riders briefing I felt a bit queasy. The day the whole team arrived I realized, they came just to see Oskar and me Windsurfing with all these cameras…I felt different than in competitions. Much more intensive being in the centre of attention.
The morning of the DayX greeted us with gnarly 10-11 bft, almost 4meter high waves and the Baltic Sea looked unreal. There was a short moment of hesitation but then I thought of all the guys who voted for me and I stopped thinking and grabbed my gear!
I tried out my 3.7 sail and a strong current gave me a hard time. It´s weird what comes into your mind while sailing in such conditions. Should you take this wave or that? If you jump now, what will happen? If mast and board break, what will happen to you? I had to think of my daughter and my wife.

I was happy I took the perfect board, the Guerrilla76 really suits me and even though I had to readjust my sail several times I was glad having the North XT extension.
Concentration is most important in those conditions and I tried my best to stay in track. It must have been really exhausting for everybody, respect to the Jetski guys, cameramen, fotographers and the rest of the crew.
I reached my limits in this session and I advise to everybody not to try risk life in conditions like this. Windsurfing should be fun, not pure surviving!
I´m glad I made it. It was the toughest challenge in my life and I made my experiences!!!
