Always riding when it storms..
Personal Comment
The storm was the most powerful in the morning so we slept in our vans on the beach. We woke up very early and rigged in the dark. The atmosphere was loaded, the wind was blowing hard, the sand was flying and de sky-colours were beautiful. Everybody was ready. We went on the water to face the storm. We had a maximum of 9 Bft, It was raining and the big waves were very impressive. Then the wind turned totally onshore
so it was getting hard to make high moves. I knew this storm wouldn't be easy to handle, I was thinking "what am I doing in these conditions?"
Less is more they say but this time we go for MORE. So I took off in the air and went for a vertical looping. When I landed I broke my mast in 3 pieces! The wind dropped, we were right! We took the beast at the right time. At 13.00u in the afternoon I could see the action on the national journal. I think only possible with the power of (a) RedBull...“
