Personal Comment

(I will be very honest with you.) For me it was not really the perfect storm for Belgium. But that's the factor were you need a little bit of luck of course. Other countries were more lucky. I was a little bit disapointed when I saw the pictures and the film from Belgium. Maybe it looked very stormy and it was, but for me the action wasn't really there. Everything was like in slow-motion and that's not something you expect with stomy weather. Due to the full onshore wind of course. It was very hard to make some speed between the waves. And as you probably will know speed is the keyfactor for tricks and action. I was sailing with a 4.7 m2 sail so not really the sailsize you expect in stormy weather. I had everything planned in my head like I wanted it to be and what I wanted to show but it became something else. Too bad!
But besides all this it was a great experience and a perfect idea to make windsurfing more popular again. I'm looking forward to see the pictures from the other countries.
