Rider - Introducing Oskar Hollmann - GER Baltic Sea East #1
![]()
Time to introduce the riders: Oskar Hollmann, age 29, a real Berliner! Blessed with a well known nerve-bug: it starts tickling at 7 bft+, making him fly up to the coast! His parents told him to go surfing 20 years ago and so he did.
Which spots work in high winds and which winddirections?
Warnemünde is a draem in northwesterly high windconditions. Fischland Darß (Wustrow) is quite good if it is Southwest. And everything from East, you need to go to Rügen.....East/Northeast the spot Mukran south of Sassnitz is the one!
How did you promote yourself to become a Red Bull Storm Chaser?
Writing e-mails to my old friends, even to some from the kindergarden, and promised them huge presents for christmas....
Comment: your best/worst storm experience so far?
A bad windsurfing experience for me is if conditions are nice and I can`t go...! In fact that happens too often these days....
How do you prepare for the Day X?
.........I just became a dad, and right know I`m training to change nappies, I think if I can do that, I also can go sailling in 50 knots plus............!!!
