Event - Screening meeting in Germany
![]()
Rider and organisation crew met in North Germany for the screening meeting Nov 18th to watch parts of the footage from all participating countries, chat and party!
A warm welcome to the riders from Robby Naish, Klaas Voget and Robert Sand was broadcasted via video message directly from Maui right into the cosy hunting lodge in Germany.
Between bonfire and buffet the rider, cameramen, cutter and organisers enjoyed stormy impressions accompanied by a DJ who delegated the guests into a high pressure party until early in the morning.
John Hibbard:
"The party went off, almost as extreme as the Storm Chase! It was so good to meet up with loads of the other riders, watch some of the footage on a big screen and talk about their Storm Chase experiences. Plenty of Red Bull and other drinks were consumed; it was a classic party, one to remember! Thanks to the Red Bull Storm Chase team for organising it all. Our 24hrs in Germany was mental!"
Ben Proffitt:
I'm really glad we had the chance to come over to Hamburger (ha ha) and eat Sausage and soup with all the guys who made the Storm Chase possible!
We had a really fun time and it was great to put faces to all the names we've been emailing with over the last couple of months. It was also great as we got to swap stories of the chase with the rest of the sailors! Obviously not all the sailors could be there as some had other commitments.
But it was really cool to get a 'MTV' awards show type video from Klaas Voget and Rob Sands from Maui apologising for not being able to make it... Made me laugh.. Or that could have been the beer!! ha ha
The DVD premier went down a storm (excuse the pun!) and the action was insane. It was really cool to see all the different conditions that everyone got and how Gnarly it really can get!! Top marks to everyone involved, it was a massive project and god know how
they did it but they've pulled it off!!
It's a top DVD and everyone should go out and buy it!”
