There is no winner of the first mission, but Thomas Traversa scored highest overall on the day!

Stay tuned for more info later. Thanks for sharing today with us. Respect to the Sea-Doo safety crew, sailors and brave spectators!

Sailors advancing to Mission 2 of Red Bull Storm Chase are: Traversa, Bruch, Taboulet, Browne, Fernandez & Swift. Congratulations to all!

The Judges are tabulating & in approx 15 mins, the six sailors to advance to Mission 2 will be announced.

Final throw of dice for Danielsen as a set wave jacks-up then backs-off and reforms on flooding tide. Nothing else from Victor. Heat over.

A back loop each. Victor's landed but Kenneth's crash was higher and on outside ramp.

Kenneth keeps control for some frontside turns, Victor rescues a landing from more critical section smacked-air.

Heat over. Final heat is Victor Fernandez versus Kenneth Danielsen. Wind back to 50+ knots. Game on.

Brawny picks longer left but struggles with rig in gust. Both riders downwind near rocks, struggling to plane on tiny sails in (40kt) lulls!

Hell's Gate Competition Site Overview

Matching end-over-end forwards for both. A lull in set waves so far. Wind slightly less, maybe 40-knots. Big backie from Leon.

Hard work for Guilloul and Angulo in last mins of that heat. Just straight jumps & some rides. Browne vs. Jamaer next.

Sailors psyche-up each other before their heats http://t.co/3Y9GzZxj

Backie by Bouj, hard to see landing behind over mast wave!

Bouj trying to reach the chopper http://t.co/hUJhRqKY

Angulo tackles a right-hander while going left, hits lip solidly &finishes off with some nice backside turns.Bouj escapes a giant close-out.

A big gust flattens Swift and Bruch in the impact zone under the chopper. Heat over, Bouj vs. Josh next.

Sea-Doos assist sailors in getting out as the bay is shielded from the wind by a cliff. http://t.co/ce4NadFs

Bruch picks a massive set wave but it closes-out on him, then he bails from a giant stalled forward loop.

Failed upwind 360 by Bruch, Swift links some frontside turns including a cheeky aerial.

Bruch waterstarts after 45-high stalled front loop! Crashes on inside after wave ride.

Swift sticks a push loop and tries his best to turn frontside in this amount of wind. Bruch at wind line after Sea-Doo tow from beach.

Insane action here. The helicopter is now here to film heat 2 onwards. Swift vs. Bruch heat about to start.

Some well over-mast sets now, Traversa pulls a huge, huge, huge backie and also 'turbo high' straight jump according to judges.

Both French riders getting to grips with logo-high waves that peel only briefly before closing out. Port tack side shore wind. 50kn easily.

Heat Draw for Round #3 http://t.co/jhFEvQUO

Some nervous sailors waiting to challenge each other and Hell's Gate. Traversa versus Taboulet up first, both swimming to wind line now.

New Spot, New Heat!!! Rock'N'Roll Conditions!!! Full Power My Friends http://t.co/a0iPlYAm

Some intense gusts are tearing through Hell's Gate +60 knots for sure. Chopper crew are nervous of taking-off. On-schedule for 14.45 start.

Hell's Gate, where the competition will be resumed in approx. 30 mins. http://t.co/AT5XlAs1

Event crew setting-up at Hell's Gate now after warm soup! Waves over mast-high await competitors, fanned by sideshore wind of 50 knots!

Helicopter has arrived to capture the action during the next rounds. http://t.co/WL1ThUx7

Judges are tabulating the results from the first 2 rounds. http://t.co/THIdREuv

For those asking, due to the mobile event format live streaming is not possible. Watch out for the roundup clip later!

The Head Judge has decided that Round 3 will be held at Hell's Gate. Approx start time is 14.30 - 14.45.

Next up is a GoPro Expression Session, followed by Round 3 to be filmed by helicopter for your roundup clip viewing pleasure later!

Round 2 over. A short break now. As the wind veers more westerly the crew are discussing a possible switch to Hell's Gate later.

Sick, high one-handed back loop from Danielsen.

Clean tweaked tabletop from Bouj & another on the way back in! Nice push loop from Kenneth, brutal back-slap stalled-forward crash by Bouj.

Two more failed backside 360s from Bruch, all quiet from Taboulet. Danielsen vs. Guilloul just about to start.

Super-late forward crash from Julien as Bruch stacks on backloop -he'll get marked down for repetition on that move.

Must be nearly 60 knots again. Rocket air from Bruch, I counted for 7 seconds.

Heat 4 starts, Taboulet versus Bruch. A pair of huge backies open their accounts, Bruch's crashed.

Respect to sailors of course, but fair play to the Seadoo drivers from safety crew dodging the walls of whitewater.

Wind much more onshore again, probably pushing 50 knots or more again.

Stratospheric backie from Victor. Swift changing boards, I think that push-forward landing punished the first one...

Head Judge Coombs: 'I think that's the highest, most perfect, controlled push-forward I've ever seen'. That'll be a 10 then, if not a 12.

Heat 3 Fernandez vs. Swift. Fernandez pulls clean forward in front of Swift who replies with perfect push loop-forward. Advantage Swift.

Full-house from judge's for Traversa, for perspective, Brawzinho lands perfect Goiter for 8.5.

Not many ramps presenting so far for this pair, but Thomas pulls perfect frontside 360 in overhead shore dump.

Heat over. Jamaer versus Traversa next. It's a privilege to watch.

More gusts as Browne risks repetition points for backies. Sun is out briefly. Clean tweaked push loop from Browne. Angulo ramp-hunting.

Brawzy's custom 3.4 makes his 75L board look massive! No action from Angulo as yet, Browne crashes another high backie.

Wind a little lighter now, probably forty knots, Brawzinho lands perfect high backloop.

Angulo and Browne prepare to launch for first heat of round 2.

Kenneth: 'Actually the the wind dropped after big squall as we launched so I was underpowered on my 3.4 and struggled to get air out-back'.

Robby Swift: 'It's either more than 60-knots, or the wind is so much denser it feels much stronger. It was scariest walking down the beach!'

Angulo: 'It was scarier than the scariest we could've imagined'

Sailors warming up for round #2 set to start shortly. http://t.co/rTzdlUpm

15 min break before Round 2. Standby for details.

Heat over. Waves look more defined as tide drops.

Two large floaty jumps from Bruch. Kenneth goes down on outside and gets back up to try taka on inside section.

Incredible 'smoke-on-the-water' wind and rain blast as Dany & Kenneth hit the water.

Who are the standouts so far? Well, they're all heroes, but Jamaer, Taboulet & Guilloul look strongest at this stage.

Heat over. 5th and final round up next - Bruch versus Danielsen. There will be 15min break before Round 2

Crashed stalled forward from Bouj & amazing clean one-handed backie from Taboulet. Totally inspirational given the conditions.

Crashed push-tabletop in big squall, followed by perfect tabletop-forward and clean back loop from Taboulet.

Highest scoring moves of day so far: Jamaer's back loop in heat 1 and Bouj's forward, apparently a table-top forward combo.

Style matters: Wesh is wearing shorts over his wetsuit. :) http://t.co/eq7KE9fi

Tweaked push loop from Bouj, and a large forward. Taboulet rides frontside. Both far downwind already.

For those wondering, yes, Taboulet is wearing shorts over his wetsuit! Visibility clearing and Mount Brandon now in sight across the bay.

Another clean backloop from Browne, both milking inside waves now. Heat over as both return to beach. Boujmaa versus Taboulet next.

Quite low almost-over-rotated push loop from Swift, pretty low but landed. Brawny sticks clean low backie, both Very impressive considering

If ever there was battle of man vs. man vs. nature this is it! Brawzinho nearly lands biggest jump of day so far!

Swift muscles low back loop, then both simultaneously crash big air

Green flag heat 3up both taking it easy first run out.

Brawzinho has custom Goya 3.2 and Swift a borrowed NeilPryde 2.9 from local Rob Jones

Storm-proof Heimplanet tent is up as huge squalls lash the beach here at Dumps in Brandon Bay. Brawzinho struggles to water with gear

Heat ends as hail shower rips through event site. Next up Swifty vs. Brawzinho

Traversa floating in air like kiter. Bails from one prob about 40ft up

Both riders sticking to inside. Traversa making easy work of backside section. Victor on scoresheet with big air

Judges are positioned in the cars on the beach. http://t.co/Zpes4MUm

50 knots here def more intense than Pozo. More huge straight jumping from Traversa

Clean back loop for Fernandez on inside

Traversa is 60kg &on 60L and 3.3 and launches rocket air off beach

Traversa before heat: "I'm nervous, I don't know what to expect, we'll see. I didn't watch the first heat' both riders hitting water now

Ski and judges waiting for Josh & Leon back on beach before Heat 2. Next up Traversa versus Fernandez

No jumps from Angulo yet, judges like Jamaer's high crashed backloop more than lower, perfectly landed one. Heat over.

Angulo rides good logo high wall and Leon falls on a wave 360 after good few turns from out back

Leon takes advantage of lull in sets to venture far outside.

Huge perfectly landed back loop by Leon who is then wiped out by next wall of water, no action from Angulo as yet

Ready To Go!!!! Full Taquet!!! http://t.co/HNdOPj7k

First heat is underway, Angulo versus Jamaer. Massive back loop crash by Jamaer! He is near gear and up-and-running safely

Jetski drivers say outside wave faces easily mast and half or more

Wind strength looks even higher, maybe gusts over 60 knots. Jamaer on beach now with 3.3 Hot Smack &75Fanatic quad

It's so windy, sailors even have to protect their boards from flying away. http://t.co/gpncNGMC

Red flag is up calling Angulo into beach for first heat versus Jamaer

Wind now more onshore than earlier, Angulo made progress upwind. Outside wave faces mast and half, Angulo sticking inside on logo high walls

Angulo now tuning that 3.6 Fly and Jetskis are on the water after radical journey from nearby harbour

Josh Angulo sails out 50m or so and makes his first gybe 'indoor style' just before the first closing-out wave line here at Dumps

Judging team consists of Head Judge Duncan Coombs, Athlete Manager Klaas Voget and Guest Judge Timo Mullen from Ireland

Angulo being briefed by local Jamie Knox on how to deal with Dumps. http://t.co/81BQ4uKZ

Angulo heading out for test run on Chango 75 and 3.6 NeilPryde Fly

Judges running 10m heats of 2 sailors from 09.10 first up J Angulo v L Jamaer followed by Fernandez v Traversa, super stormy conditions!

Sailors are preparing to go out. http://t.co/4NKMmRvT

Skippers' Meeting about to start at Red Bull vehicle. Sailors will be briefed on judging format. Details to follow.

Dawn is breaking at the competition site! http://t.co/8S3vKQVJ

On-beach measurements have the wind peaking at 108kmh / 58 knots! High spring tide starting to drop and daylight creeping in.

We can't see the horizon yet - just endless walls of whitewater. Wind must be at least 50 knots.

We should mention that this far west and north in Europe, at this time of year, dawn is at nearly 8.30 am!

All event crew on the beach at 'Dumps'. Hard to say how windy but it's howling and very wet! Skippers Meeting 08.30

Last bags have arrived in Dublin just now and are being brought over here. Phew. http://t.co/GSF5wJ2U

More of the guys enjoying their dinner here at Brandon Bay. http://t.co/jBJbSjv7

All sailors have arrived in Brandon Bay! They're recharging with dinner after their exhausting journeys. http://t.co/9CH80VoK

Your chance to become a very important part of Red Bull Storm Chase: Kenneth needs a caddy, as his gear got lost on the journey!

We're looking for:
a) F2 Barracuda 77 l board
b) Simmer harness (large)

Anyone close to here who could make it in time? Please send us a message on Facebook or Tweet.

UPDATE: We found a board for Kenneth!

Meanwhile, advance crew is busy checking the two possible spot options and making all the necessary preparations for the competition.

Sailors and rest of the crew should arrive shortly. Incredible, considering they have come from so many different places around the world.

Latest forecast is still full on for tomorrow. Going to be huge! http://t.co/m5meObI9
