As of March 22nd, the first part of the two standby periods for 2013 has ended.

The hunt for suitable storms will be resumed in mid-July. This intermission has been scheduled since the inception of the 2013 extension, as the probability for suitable storms during this timeframe is very low.

After a ground-breaking day of hurricane-strength windsurfing, six sailors - Browne, Bruch, Fernandez, Swift, Taboulet & Traversa - advance to Mission 2.

The original plan was to complete the event and crown the Storm Chaser of the year before the end of the waiting period, which was two weeks ago on Nov 30, 2012. But as it turned out, none of the three aimed missions had been accomplished by then.
